How to put an app you built with AI online

AI tools can build a working app in an afternoon. Getting it onto a real link that other people can open is where many projects stop. Here are your options, from the most work to the least.

In short: the fastest route is a platform your AI tool can deploy to by itself. With Project3000 you paste one prompt into the AI tool that built the app, click Deploy, and get an HTTPS link with a database included.

First: what “online” needs

On your computer, your app runs on localhost, which only you can open. To share it, it needs to run on a server that is always on, with an address, a security certificate (HTTPS) and, for most real apps, a database that keeps data between visits.

Option 1: rent a server and set it up

A VPS gives you full control. You install the runtime, a web server, the database and certificates, then keep all of it updated and running. It is the most flexible option and the most work. See Project3000 vs your own server.

Option 2: a developer hosting platform

Platforms such as Vercel, Netlify, Render and Railway remove the server work, but you still connect a Git repository, configure services and set up a database separately. They are excellent for developers; for a first AI-built app they can be a lot to learn. Compare them: Vercel, Netlify, Render, Railway.

Option 3: let your AI tool deploy it

AI coding tools that work in your project folder (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI) can prepare and upload an app if they are given exact instructions. That is how Project3000 works: every app in your dashboard has a prompt with those instructions. Your AI follows them, checks the project with the same validator our servers run, and uploads it. You click Deploy.

A short checklist before you share the link

  • Your app saves data in a database, not in a file or only in the browser.
  • Passwords and API keys are settings, not written into the code.
  • You have your own copy of the project (on Project3000, the Download button gives you everything in one ZIP).
  • You tried the main actions yourself on the live link.

Questions and answers

What is the cheapest way to put an AI app online?
Free plans exist for static sites and small demos, with limits (some sleep when idle or don’t allow commercial use). For an always-on app with a database, Project3000 starts at $9.90 per month.
Can I put my app online without knowing how to code?
Yes. With Project3000 your AI tool does the technical part; you approve its steps and click Deploy.
