How to deploy a project built with Codex

Before you start

• Your app's code in a folder on your computer (built with OpenAI Codex).
• Codex installed and signed in.
• A Project3000 account. Creating one takes a minute.

Deploy your Codex project, step by step

1. Create your account at project3000.io with Google or email, and set up two-factor sign-in (it takes a minute).
2. Choose a package and create the app. Its name becomes its address: your-name.apps.project3000.io.
3. Open Codex on your project folder, with approval turned on, so it asks before it runs each command. The “See how” links in the dashboard show where both settings are.
4. Copy the prompt from your dashboard and paste it into Codex. It reads your project, adds the two files Project3000 needs (a Dockerfile and a manifest.json), connects the app to its included database and cache, and uploads it. Approve each step when Codex asks.
5. Click Deploy. Your app goes live on its own HTTPS link and runs as two copies on separate servers. Share the link with anyone.

Tips for Codex projects

• Start a new Codex chat on the app’s folder and check the folder name above the message box.
• Keep approval on (“Ask for approval”). In fully automatic modes Codex decides by itself, and it may refuse to send files to an outside address, so the upload never arrives.
• On Windows, Codex uses curl.exe for the upload; the prompt already explains this to it.

What your app gets

Its own PostgreSQL-compatible database and Redis-compatible cache, a free HTTPS certificate, two copies on separate servers with automatic recovery, and a link to share. Pro and Business apps can use your own domain.
