How to deploy an app built in Windsurf

Before you start

• Your app's code in a folder on your computer (built with Windsurf).
• Windsurf installed and signed in.
• A Project3000 account. Creating one takes a minute.

Deploy your Windsurf project, step by step

1. Create your account at project3000.io with Google or email, and set up two-factor sign-in (it takes a minute).
2. Choose a package and create the app. Its name becomes its address: your-name.apps.project3000.io.
3. Open your project folder in Windsurf and start a new chat with its agent, with approval turned on, so it asks before it runs each command. The “See how” links in the dashboard show where both settings are.
4. Copy the prompt from your dashboard and paste it into Windsurf. It reads your project, adds the two files Project3000 needs (a Dockerfile and a manifest.json), connects the app to its included database and cache, and uploads it. Approve each step when Windsurf asks.
5. Click Deploy. Your app goes live on its own HTTPS link and runs as two copies on separate servers. Share the link with anyone.

Tips for Windsurf projects

• Use the agent, so Windsurf can run the commands the prompt asks for.
• Keep approval on, so Windsurf asks before each command. In fully automatic modes an AI tool may refuse to send files to an outside address, so the upload never arrives.
• If the agent stops halfway, ask it to continue with the prompt’s next step; each step is safe to repeat.

What your app gets

Its own PostgreSQL-compatible database and Redis-compatible cache, a free HTTPS certificate, two copies on separate servers with automatic recovery, and a link to share. Pro and Business apps can use your own domain.
