Deploy a Next.js app built with AI
Next.js is the framework AI tools pick most often for web apps. On Project3000 it runs as a normal Node.js server, so server-side rendering, API routes and server actions all work.
In short: open your Next.js project in an AI coding tool (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or Gemini CLI), paste the Project3000 prompt from your dashboard and click Deploy. The prompt tells the AI what Next.js needs to run online: a production build, a server that listens on the right address, and the database settings.
Deploy a Next.js app, step by step
- Create your account at project3000.io with Google or email, and set up two-factor sign-in (it takes a minute).
- Choose a package and create the app. Its name becomes its address:
your-name.apps.project3000.io. - Open your Next.js project folder in an AI coding tool (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or Gemini CLI), with approval turned on, so it asks before it runs each command. The “See how” links in the dashboard show where both settings are.
- Copy the prompt from your dashboard and paste it into your AI tool. It reads your project, adds the two files Project3000 needs (a Dockerfile and a
manifest.json), connects the app to its included database and cache, and uploads it. Approve each step when your AI tool asks. - Click Deploy. Your app goes live on its own HTTPS link and runs as two copies on separate servers. Share the link with anyone.
What changes for Next.js online
- The app is built once (
next build) and started withnext startor the standalone server. - The server must listen on
0.0.0.0and the port inmanifest.json, notlocalhost: Next.js does this when started with the right host and port. - Database access goes through
DATABASE_URL(PostgreSQL-compatible), for example with Prisma or Drizzle. - Both copies share the database and cache, so sign-ins keep working whichever copy answers.
You don’t make these changes by hand: the deploy prompt explains them to your AI, which checks the project with the same validator our servers use before it uploads.
